The School house and under the studio

The school house has two floors: the ground floor and the first floor (studio)

THE GROUND FLOOR

The ground floor has two seperate areas, the pottery and the rooms.

The entrance to the rooms are from the main courtyard. There is one bathroom and two bedrooms:

- One bedroom has its own hand basin (Framboise)

-One double bedroom (Fraise)

The Pottery:
The second space under the studio is currently in use as the pottery. There is a tiled floor, a butlers sink, a wood stove and a toilet . this WC also functions as a convenient public toilet when guests are in the main courtyard. There are double french windows providing access to the lane for deliveries.  There is  a second  window in the east wall.

THE FIRST FLOOR: STUDIO

Enter from the garden, walk through the small conservatory to the studio; this large room was the original girl’s school- room for the village of Frayssinet. It was in use until early 1900's and nuns were the teachers. Because this was a school, there are four large original windows. Artists happily use this area day and night. There is a pine floor, butlers sink and counter and a toilet with storage space above. The air conditioner makes painting more comfortable mid-summer, and doubling as a heater means welcome warmth on chilly evenings.

You may descend via the staircase or enter the rooms below the studio from the main courtyard.
