A stroll through LVC's Magical Gardens

Enter through the green iron gates into the tranquil privacy of the main courtyard. This rare and beautiful space is enhanced by large square paving stones and the high stone garden wall which provides privacy from the lane.  This courtyard is the perfect plein-air dining room , both at lunch time and on warm summer evenings . The steps invite you to walk up to the gardens beyond.

The various paths will lead you to lovely hidden areas...

...a landscaped fish pond planted with pink and maroon

water lilies ,a popular painting spot...

...too two secluded pools, one a 'dipping pool', with a grassed relaxing area ; the second a small bathing pool with  its own terrace. There  is a small, landscaped pump-house with a chlorine filter system.

At the top of the gardens there is a much painted potting shed with a lovely relaxing area, just beside the vegetable garden

A special place to sit in the sun on a windy day. We call this space the ruin .  We  excavated and then rescued  what remains of this 17th ,centuary shop.

Taking yet another route you'll find a badminton lawn and a boules court (La pétanque !)

Much of the fresh produce at LVC comes from the gardens.  Vegetables, herbs and many fruit trees. Apple, pear, peach, fig, cherry , plum and damson trees, raspberry canes , kaki fruit, Japanese wine berries, gooseberries, black currants, strawberries...
