Enchanting locations, inspiring landscapes, exquisite cuisine

Le Vieux Couvent is situated 30 km north of Cahors, famous for the Pont Valentre – a UNESCO heritage site. From the celebrated regional vineyards to the pre-historic cave paintings at Pech Merle, the region and its bustling markets are just waiting to be explored and painted.

The departement of the Lot is filled with memorable landscapes, dramatic gorges and slow moving rivers. It boasts some of the most beautiful and iconic villages in France including St Cirq Lapopie, and Rocamadour. Dozens of medieval chateaux can be seen within 40 minutes from our door.

We are adjacent to the protected boundaries of 'Causses du Quercy' Regional Natural Park, where you can see the dolmens (ancient burial sites) and menhirs of early man , dating back to between 2000 and 5000 BC. The world famous cave paintings at Pech Merle, Cougnac,  and Lascaux are a short drive away.

Le Vieux Couvent is like a hub of a wheel, with remarkable vistas and experiences in all directions. You need only to enjoy a ‘walk around the block’  - seeing grazing sheep, an ancient shepherds hut, and proud pigeon towers, to begin to absorb some of the land and its heritage.

Steeped in medieval charm, this is a place largely unspoiled by the passage of time. The LVC experience will stay with your clients forever and have them coming back to re-discover it time and again.
